Caring for those with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's.

The Cottages Memory Care – Two locations offering superior individualized care with a hometown heart.

What is Dementia Care?

Dementia is a general term that describes symptoms associated with memory loss, or a decline in mental ability – significant enough to interfere with a person's daily living or activities. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia.

The Cottages Memory Care programs and caregivers will provide the daily balance needed to help each person live an active, enjoyable life within safe surroundings.

Memory Care includes such things as frequent reminders, redirection, and calm reassurance. It includes caring for those who's thought process is impaired and may need step-by-step instruction or directon with simple tasts.

Although a dignosis of a dementia, such as Alzheimer disease, is not a prerequisite to live at The Cottages Memory Care facility, all staff are trained as Dementia Care Specialists.
